About This Country Canada Ltd.

Founded in 1997 and incorporated in 1999, (TCC) is a registered,
non-profit company devoted to the documentation of . It is mandated with
the responsibility of creating contemporary renderings of a given phenomenon,
presenting them in a variety of forms while simultaneously building tomorrow’s
archives.
It is a project driven organization, co-directed and co-produced by Kristen Wagner and
Tim Van Horn. Material is gathered using traditional recording technology such as
photography, audio, film, video, gathering artifacts/objects and the all-important
aspect of listening. The final products embody diverse media such as print, exhibits,
new media, photographs, audio/visual presentations, radio, and stories. TCC pushes
the limits of "Storytelling" by utilizing a variety of media to best tell that story; in
addition, creative and innovative methods of presentation ensure that the material is
artistically gripping and intellectually stimulating.

About Tim Van Horn

Co-founder, Producer, Photographer

Tim’s dream is to create powerful and monumental photographs and photo documentaries. Growing up and traveling around Canada and the world in the Canadian military, Tim developed a sense of duty for his country and a craving for cultural experiences. It became obvious to him at an early age that his life calling was to document the world with a camera.

The subject matter Tim has chosen is the unlimited possibilities of the people and places of Canada. Carrying a camera daily in search of the story of modern-day Canadians in their landscape. Tim makes the ordinary, extraordinary.

By utilizing a number of communicative mediums ranging from the Internet, to fine-art photographic prints, large traveling exhibits and beautiful photography books, Tim provides Canadians with visual art that is rooted in cultural awareness and a much-needed unique point-of-view.

 

About Kristen Wagner

Co-founder, Producer, Photographer

Kristen, is a native of big city Calgary
and studied film and photography at
Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. Upon
her completion there in 1985, she
worked in (West) Germany for eight
years in the fields of still photography,
animation and special effects resulting
primarily in documentary film. Her
passion has always been educational
subject matter combined with innovative
methods of presentation.
