The Legacy Of A Single Book

In 2004-05 photographers Tim Van Horn and Kristen Wagner traveled over 15000kms of Alberta roads from the Northwest Territory to the USA border. Tim and Kristen met and photographed 1000's of Albertan in over 320 communities, large and small. 17,500 photographs were taken using film cameras to document Alberta for its Centennial in 2005.

A lasting legacy was created in the form of both a beautiful book and 1000's of photographs with archival importance. In this 100 photo online photo galley you will get just a taste of scope of Alberta and the Albertan people. Each of the 100 photographs represent one of Alberta's 100th years as a province of Canada.

Many 1000's of Alberta's pioneers and stettlers gave their life's to make Alberta what it is today. Fields where plowed, oil was drilled for, roads built up from wagon trails. Take the time to see the pride in the Albertan's presented in this photo gallery.

To see the scope of the photographs take in 2004 and 2005 we encourage you to visit your local library and sign out the I Am Albertan book.
